The information that we collect and store relating to you is primarily used to enable us to provide this service to you but we may also use this information to help us to review and improve this service. We may contact you for feedback to monitor and evaluate this service.
The personal data you provide online will be used by Terrence Higgins Trust for the provision of this service. Your name and contact details will be shared with our laboratory partner TDL for the purpose of providing your test and results.
Terrence Higgins Trust and TDL adhere to strict privacy guidelines in order to protect your data, and all information will be treated in strict confidence.
We will send you an email confirming your order. We may send you up to two text message reminders if your test has not been returned. We may use your email address to contact you to ask about your experience of the service. We may contact you by telephone or email if you report a positive result. As part of ordering a test, you agree to be contacted in this way.
If you order a postal testing kit, this will be posted to the address that you specify in a plain envelope by standard mail and you will be provided with a pre-paid envelope to return your sample to the laboratory through standard mail. Please ensure that the address you provide is suitable as we cannot accept responsibility for any items opened by anyone other than the person it is addressed to. Your result will be shared with your GP.
If you choose to have a test at your GP, we will pass your details on to them.
We will not reveal information about identifiable individuals to other parties unless legally required to do so, for example to comply with the law, or a court order or where there is a clear safety risk to you or to someone else. If this is the case we will always try to inform you.
We may use the Textanywhere service to text information to you regarding your test and your result.
Textanywhere will only collect information necessary to provide the Textanywhere service. This includes name and contact information for clients, for example mobile phone numbers.
Textanywhere will hold your personal information on their systems for as long as is necessary for the service you have signed-up. This time frame will be for a period of up to two years. After this period, they will continue to hold data for as long as it is required for tax and recording purposes. After the cancellation of any account, they will not use the data for any business or marketing purpose other than for tax and recording purposes.
